India have begun the series against South Africa on a losing note, succumbing to defeats in the first two Twenty20 Internationals, but senior spinner Harbhajan Singh believes his team is just one win away from turning the tide.

India lost the first T20 by seven wickets despite posting an imposing 199 on the board before crumbling to 92 all out in Cuttack on Monday and crashed to a six wicket defeat.

Harbhajan warns against writing off India’s chances ahead of the final match of the Twenty20 series at the Eden Gardens on Thursday night.

India will also be hosting a fivematch one-day series beginning next week before a four-match Test series against the same opponents and Harbhajan believes a win in Kolkata will put them in the right frame for the upcoming matches.

“We have lost the series but we still have a lot to play for in the final game,” Harbhajan said on Wednesday. “Hopefully, we will win and from there onward it could be a different story.

“The ODIs are coming up and then the Tests. We want to play our best game and put up our best show. Once we start winning we will be a difficult side to beat.

“Every game is a challenge for us from here on. Yes, we have lost the series and we didn’t play as well as we should have but Eden is always a very special ground for all of us.

“Obviously, winning here will mean a lot to us. We will go out there and give it our best shot. “If we win here, we will take that confidence into the ODI series,” he added.

While India will be aiming to salvage pride, the South Africans will be eyeing a clean sweep of the T20 series on a pitch that is expected to assist the batsmen.
