2:00 pm – Ponting says umpires have stopped checking for no-balls

Ricky Ponting.

On-field umpires no longer bother to look at the front line to check for no-balls, believes former Australia captain Ricky Ponting.

Ponting gave his views after India fast bowler Ishant Sharma bowled multiple no-balls on Day Four of the first Test between Australia and India in Adelaide with none of them being called by the umpires.

1:30 pm – No IPL for Rahman

Bangladesh seamer Mustafizur Rahman.

Bangladesh Cricket Board have decided to not allow their fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman to feature in the next edition of the Indian Premier League.

The BCB had decided in June to protect Rahman this season with the target of keeping him in prime condition for the World Cup in England next year.

1:00 pm – Inzy cracks the whip

Pakistan chief selector and former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has warned non-performing players that they will be ‘sent home’ if they don’t raise their game.

Inzamam said the entire team is to be blamed for 2-1 Test series defeat to New Zealand.

9:45 am – India set Australia a target of 323 in Adelaide Test

India were bowled out for 307 runs in the second innings of the opening Test against Australia with Nathan Lyon picking up six wickets for the hosts. Half-centuries from Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane helped push India’s cause on day four as Australia were set a daunting chase of 323 to win.

The Indians then reduced Australia to 60-3 to take control of the first Test.

Rahane scored a fine 70 to lead India’s charge on day four.

8:00am – Arthur asks Pakistan to introspect

Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur has asked his players to seize key moments in Test matches.

Reckless batting from Sarfraz Ahmed’s team handed New Zealand their first away series win over Pakistan in 49 years as the Kiwis secured a 123-run victory in the third and final Test in Abu Dhabi.
