4:00 pm – Bumrah backs Ashwin

Ravi Ashwin.

India pacer Jasprit Bumrah said off-spinner Ravi Ashwin will prove more than a handful in the fourth innings of the first Test against Australia in Adelaide.

Aussie off-spinner Nathan Lyon made good use of the rough outside off-stump against the Indians and Bumrah backed the Indian spinner to weave his magic.

2:00 pm – The going might get tougher

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed.

Pakistan lost the home Test series to New Zealand 2-1 after a crushing defeat in the Abu Dhabi Test.

The pressure has only increased on Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed as he failed with the bat as well.

And the going might get even tougher as Pakistan prepare for a full tour of South Africa.

India stretched the lead past 100 on Day Three of the opening Test against Australia in Adelaide.

Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara were batting in the third session as the scoring rate remained low.

11:00 am – Stokes and Hales cleared to play

Ben Stokes (l) and Alex Hales.

Ben Stokes and Alex Hales remain eligible for England selection following the outcome of a disciplinary hearing into their roles in a fight outside a Bristol nightclub in 2017.

Stokes was handed an eight-match England ban by the Cricket Discipline Commission Disciplinary Panel but those games are deemed to have been served.

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed.

After his second ‘home’ series defeat in the UAE in as many seasons, Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed said he is beginning to consider giving up captaincy, at least in the longest format.
