Ajmal is currently suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for an illegal action and failed to repair his action in time for the 2015 World Cup.

The off-spinner has been working hard to clear his action, and his name, in order to return to international cricket with the same vigour which saw him become the world’s best bowler.

“The top government officials have revealed that Punjab government advised to close down the academy on a temporary basis. It is a precautionary measure because there were reports that it may be attacked,” Ajmal said.

"The government is trying to give us a proper security plan for the academy and till that I couldn’t put lives of my students at risk.”

More than 200 boys and girls use the facility at no cost.

The country is currentlyon high alert, with the government increasing security of sensitive buildings and educational institutions following the terrorist attack in Peshawar led to the deaths of more than 140 people, mostly children.
