India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bowl in their opening Twenty20 international in Brisbane on Wednesday, kicking off a two-month long tour.

Glenn Maxwell accelerated Australia to 158/4 in 17 overs with a knock of 46 from 24 balls before rain interrupted play.

The encounter was therefore reduced to a 17-over match with India taking to the crease once play resumed.
