The matter of Saeed Ajmal’s clearance has become a long dragged story similar to football’s summer transfers’ sagas as now the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman thinks that the bowler himself needs to decide whether he wants official reassessment or not.

Ajmal has not been impressive with his remodelled action and even the PCB illegal bowling action committee feels that Ajmal will never be the same with his new action.

The 37-year-old has been wandering here and there – Loughborough, Cardiff and Pakistan’s National Cricket Academy (NCA) – to somehow clear the second official test so that he can be considered for 2015 World Cup 15-man squad before deadline of January 7.

But the time is running out pretty quickly for him and his chances are getting bleak with every passing second.

“Ajmal should decide whether he wants reassessment or not. If the board sends him for another official testing and he failed that then his career will be over,” Shaharyar Khan explained while speaking at the final of Pakistan’s premier domestic competition Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Gold.

“The failure would be both PCB’s and Ajmal’s loss because he will be banned for two years and that will be it.”

 Shaharyar added that though the bowler has been working really hard but they are still unsure whether the flexion has come under allowed limit of 15 degrees or not.

Ajmal’s ‘doosra’ is still well over 15 degrees even with modified action and he is trying to develop few more deliveries like carom ball and the seam up delivery just in case his ‘doosra’ becomes illegal.
