Former Pakistan skippers Wasim Akram and Misbah-ul-Haq are being considered as possible options for the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) cricket committee.

According to a report by Geo TV, the two Pakistan stalwarts’ names are at the forefront in discussions for forming a cricket committee.

The report states that PCB chairman Ehsan Mani has consulted with the country’s newly elected Prime Minister Imran Khan about the inclusion of the two names.

While the two Pakistan legends are expected to be a certainty in the cricket committee, several Pakistan cricketers from the 70s and 90s are also said to be in contention.

Earlier this week, former Pakistan international Ramiz Raja had urged the PCB to constitute a cricket committee comprising of former and current players to oversee the development of sport in the country.

The duo’s names reportedly has the approval of Ehsan Mani.

“Such a committee should be given the task of taking care of domestic cricket as well as of improving the think tank responsible for making crucial decisions,” Ramiz had been quoted as saying by Geo TV.

Both Akram and Misbah have been excellent servants for Pakistan cricket with their distinguished careers.

With 414 Test wickets to his name from 104 matches, Akram is widely considered to be one of the greatest swing bowlers in the history of cricket. Misbah, on the other hand, proved to be one of the finest skippers of the Pakistan cricket team while scoring over 5,000 runs in 75 Tests for his country.
