4:30pm – Steve Smith revealed as Platinum player for PSL 4

Former Australia skipper Steve Smith was nominated as a Platinum Category player in the draft for the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Thursday.

The banned Aussie star is among 14 big names named in the Platinum Category who will be a part of the player pool when the player draft for the league gets underway. The Platinum Category denotes the most pedigreed overseas players in the league and is the highest among all categories.

3:45pm – India pile on 364-4 against West Indies on day one

Day one in the Rajkot Test between India and the West Indies has drawn to a close with the hosts piling on 364-4 on the board before stumps were called.

Prithvi Shaw delighted with a debut ton while Cheteshwar Pujara scored 86. Skipper Virat Kohli is looking good at the crease and is unbeaten on 72.

2:00pm – Corey Anderson on New Zealand comeback trail

New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson has decided to opt out of the first-class format for the upcoming season in a bid to strengthen his case for a return to the side in time for the 2019 ICC World Cup.

Having seen his career derailed by multiple injuries, Anderson will be focusing on the limited-overs formats in the coming eight months as he seeks to put on the Blackcaps jersey in the showpiece event at England next year.

It will be a momentous occasion for Travis Head when the first Test between Pakistanand Australia gets underway in Dubai on October 7.

The southpaw has been confirmed to make his Test debut alongside Aaron Finch by head coach Justin Langer and will have his entire family in tow for his special moment.

1:00pm – ICC World Cup Trophy tour reaches Lahore

The ICC 2019 World Cup trophy reached Lahore on Wednesday as part of its global tour in the lead up to the showpiece event to be held in England.

Pakistan pacer Mohammad Irfan was on hand to parade the glittering trophy on its route from the Gaddafi stadium to the Shahi Qila (Lahore Fort).

12:00pm – Prithvi Shaw becomes youngest Indian to register debut ton

Prithvi Shaw made it a debut to remember with the young opener slamming an aggressive ton in the opening Test between India and the West Indies at Rajkot on Thursday.

The 18-year-old was handed his maiden Test cap by Virat Kohli himself and was thrust straight into the limelight on day one after the India skipper won the toss and elected to bat first.

7:45am – India bat first in Rajkot Test as Shaw debuts

All eyes will be on young Prithvi Shaw as India take on West Indies in the first Test of the two-match series at Rajkot on Thursday. The Mumbai youngster will be in the spotlight after skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first.

7:30am – Eoin Morgan praises Andrew Strauss vision

Andrew Strauss will leave one of English cricket’s top jobs having paved the way for World Cup glory next summer, according to one-day captain Eoin Morgan.

Strauss announced on Wednesday he would not be returning to work as the national side’s director of cricket, having been on compassionate leave for the past four months
