With India crowned champions for the seventh time on Friday night, the 14th edition of the Asia Cup didn’t fail to disappoint with plenty of drama on the field.

All roads have led to Dubai International Stadium and Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium in the last fortnight as thousands witnessed the elite stars live.

With the competition done and dusted, we take a look at the best individual performances over the course of the tournament.

BEST INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE

Mushfiqur Rahim’s 144 Versus Sri Lanka

It came in the very first game of the tournament and despite other solid displays throughout the two weeks’, Mushfiqur Rahim’s performance still stands top of the pile. The Tigers were struggling at 2-1 after Lasith Malinga struck twice in the first over. But Rahim entered the crease and survived two dropped chances to notch up his sixth ODI century with a superb 144 as Bangladesh posted 261. His innings, which included 11 fours and six fours, was the highest individual score of the Asia Cup.

WORTHY MENTIONS:

RASHID KHAN 2-13 and 57 VERSUS BANGLADESH (GROUP STAGE)

RAVINDRA JADEJA’s 4-29 AGAINST BANGLADESH (GROUP STAGE)

Hardik Pandya’s injury opened the doors for Ravindra Jadeja to make his ODI comeback after a year out and the 29-year-old grabbed his opportunity with both hands. He could not have asked for a better start – troubling the Tigers’ batsmen with his spin to take four wickets in the seven-wicket victory.
