– MS Dhoni fit to lead India side against Australia

On what is a moist GABBA pitch, India captain MS Dhoni won the toss and sent his side to bat first in hot and humid Brisbane conditions.

The hosts made three changes to the squad that returned victorious from the first test at the Adelaide Oval, with Shaun Marsh brought in to replace Michael Clarke, who is struggling with back and hamstring injuries. Ryan Harris, who also pulled up sore from the first test, and Peter Siddle make way for debutant Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc.

Likewise, the Indians made three changes with off-spinner Karn Sharma dropped for Ravi Ashwin, Umesh Yadav replaces Mohammad Shami and wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha makes way for Dhoni.
