Star all-rounder Ben Stokes will face an England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) disciplinary hearing on December 5 for the Bristol night club incident.

Stokes was cleared of the affray charges brought against him in the Bristol Crown Court in August this year but he still faces the prospect of bringing the game into disrepute when the discipline commission hearing takes place.

According to a report in the Telegraph, Stokes and batsman Alex Hales will be subjected to a two-day hearing for their roles in the night club brawl.

The reason the hearing has been delayed so much is due to the fact that the ECB does not want either Stokes or Hales to have to return mid-way during England’s upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.

England are slated to leave for Sri Lanka on September 28 and the hearing has been scheduled to take place after the completion of the tour.

In case Stokes and Hales are given any sort of a ban, it could affect their participation in England’s all format two-month tour of the West Indies which sees them play three Tests, five ODIs and two T20Is.

Stokes is currently playing a big role in England’s ongoing Test series with India where he has picked up 13 wickets so far while chipping in with some important contributions with the bat as well.
