The 18-man Pakistan squad for the upcoming Asia Cup will take part in a week-long training camp in Lahore before flying out to the UAE for the tournament.

The national selection committee headed by former skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq announced the squad on Thursday after consultations with head coach Mickey Arthur and captain Sarfraz Ahmed.

Making a return to the squad are all-rounder Imad Wasim and opening batsman Shan Masood. Wasim last appeared in Pakistan colours in a T20 clash against Sri Lanka in October last year while Masood’s last appearance came in the Test series against the same opponents. Masood is yet to be capped at the limited-overs formats by Pakistan.

The players’ week-long training camp will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on September 3 before culminating on September 10. The players will undergo fitness tests on the first day of the camp.

Pakistan have been drawn in Group A of the Asia Cup alongside arch-rivals India and a yet to be decided qualifier.

Pakistan and India will lock horns in the group stages at Dubai on September 19 and could meet once again in the tournament should both teams progress to the Super Four as expected.
