5:30 pm – Ben Curran signs Northants deal

Northamptonshire have announced the signing of Ben Curran, brother of England internationals Sam and Tom, on a two-year contract.
Batsman Curran, 22, has been playing for the club’s second XI but made his first-team debut in the Steelbacks’ Vitality Blast match against Derbyshire last week.

5:00 pm – Arthur not taking Australia lightly
Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur won’t take Australia lightly during the two-Test series in the UAE in October despite the Baggy Green being without key players.
“Australia are never weak. I have been reading all that stuff but no Australian squad is weak,” he was quoted as saying.

2:00 pm – What India can learn from Pakistan
Pakistan team celebrate after winning the 2016 Lord’s Test.
The Indian team has been criticised for its lack of training and preparation for the five-Test series in England.
Pakistan, on the other hand, had extensive training leading up to the first Test in 2016 and 2018.

1:30 pm – Stead appointed New Zealand coach
Gary Stead is the new coach of the Black Caps.
Former batsman Gary Stead has been appointed as the new coach of the New Zealand cricket team on a two-year-deal.
The 46-year-old Stead will take over from Mike Hesson who resigned from his post in June this year.

12:00 – Indian team yet to train
The Indian team has not trained for three days after losing the second Test at Lord’s in effectively two days.
The Indians are expected to practice only by Thursday ahead of the third Test at Trent Bridge which starts on Saturday.

8:00 am – Stokes must return
Ben Stokes was found not guilty on Tuesday.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan claims Ben Stokes has “suffered enough punishment” and should be back in the team.
“The disciplinary case against him should take into account the time he has already served after missing the five Tests and one-day series in Australia,” Vaughan wrote in his column.

7:00 am – India’s record at Trent Bridge
India won the Trent Bridge Test in 2007
Defeat in not an option for Virat Kohli’s Indian team as they taken on England in the third Test at Trent Bridge.
Already trailing 2-0 in the five-match series, India need to raise their game dramatically at a venue where they have lost two Tests and won one Test.

6:30 am – Boycott calls Indian batting brainless
Former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott tore into India’s batting, lambasting their technique and lack of preparation.
“Trying to work straight outswingers through midwicket and then being surprised when you get bowled or nick it to the slips is brainless. Playing the ball on the up in front of your pad is a no-no,” he wrote in the Telegraph.
“To try to do it to James Anderson tells me the Indian batsmen have not done their homework.”
