West Indies’ long anticipated T20I tour of Pakistan is now slated to take place in the month of April according to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi.

The PCB chairman was reviewing arrangements in Karachi for the finals of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) when he made the statement.

The three-match T20 series, initially slated to take place in October last year, had been postponed to the last week of March 2018 previously.

“West Indies have confirmed that they will play three matches in Pakistan – but there is a slight change so that instead of 29, 30 March and 1st April, they will now play on 1st, 2nd and 4th April,” Sethi told the media on the sidelines of his visit.

This will allow some time for Pakistan to prepare for the bilateral series with the PSL concluding on March 25 with the finals in Karachi.

Sethi stated that he will request the Caribbean side to play one of the three T20Is in Karachi instead of the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore.

Sethi also reviewed preparation work at Karachi for the PSL finals.

“The West Indian cricket board have signed a contract to play three matches in Lahore, but I will try to convince the board to play at least one match in Karachi,” the PCB supremo said.

The PCB chief was also adamant that the PSL final will take place in Karachi itself and was confident of the venue passing all inspection tests for the summit clash.

“The final will be held in Karachi and nowhere else. Most of the work is complete. Small things which are in the testing phase are 95 per cent complete. I will return on March 15 and 100 per cent of targeted work will be complete,” he remarked confidently.
