The suggestion to postpone India’s primary cricket tournament – Ranji Trophy – has become the talk of the town in Indian cricketing circles.

Reportedly, the move comes as a preparatory step for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand.

While some have criticised the move, many have seen this as a major boost to India’s World Cup chances.

Young quick Chama Milind played a key role in India’s Under 19 team and helped them clinched the Asia Cup title and believes the decision is the correct one.

While Vijay Zol and Sanju Samson hogged the limelight, he silently held things together at the bowling front, for which he received appreciation from many.

Though it is still early days for him, he sees the BCCI's decision as a perfect opportunity to make it to the Indian team and don his country's blue jersey in Australia and New Zealand.

“Every time the local season comes up, we work very hard," Milind told Sport360. "The conditions in India are very batsmen friendly, so we have to toil very hard to get a wicket. Clearly, this seasons us for bowler-friendly conditions abroad.”

The youngster believes that such opportunities are what every young player looks forward to.

“It is great to get such chances [in domestic competition]. It opens up the door for so many of us to make it to the highest level,” the Hyderabad Ranji player added.

“I think temperament is the key in one dayers and brining the Vijay Hazare Trophy ahead of Ranji Trophy will do a great amount of good. It will get us all into the one-day mode and I think that is good going into such a big tournament with the pressure of being defending champions.

“Eventually, what matters is cricket. The one major advantage of delaying Ranji Trophy would be one-day practice. If the board decides otherwise, Ranji Trophy has worked for us for so long, it will work further as well.”
