Change in the Indian team’s attitude surprised Australian wicket-keeper Matthew Wade

Australian wicket-keeper Matthew Wade has said that the change in attitude of the Indian team from the first Test in Pune to the second Test in Bengaluru came as a shock to the visitors.

India lost the first Test by 333 runs and looked in huge trouble in the second Test after conceding a first-innings lead. But then, a dramatic turnaround saw the hosts win the Test by 75 runs to level the series 1-1.

The Indian team were quite vocal on the field and that seemed to have had an impact on their performance as well.

Wade, speaking to cricket.com.au, mentioned that the Indian team always tend to be aggressive but the change came as a surprise.

“They’re always aggressive. The change from the first Test to the second Test was probably the initial shock. They certainly came out a little harder on day three (at Bengaluru), but we expect them to come hard,” said Wade.

“When you’ve got a caged lion you expect them to come out pretty hard, to get away. Indian teams are always quite aggressive.”

Wade feels that the differences between Kohli and MS Dhoni as captains are down to their respective personalities.

“Dhoni was a different captain to Kohli, but that’s just personality,” added the left-handed batsman.
