Pakistan face an uphill battle to save the first Test after Australia’s bowlers caused havoc with the pink ball on day two in Brisbane.

Responding to the hosts’ 429 all out following Peter Handscomb’s maiden Test century, Pakistan appeared to be recovering from the early departure of Azhar Ali when reaching 43 for one.

But the tourists then lost seven wickets for 24 runs to slip to 97 for eight at the close, still needing another 133 to avoid the follow-on.
