Indian captain Virat Kohli scored a brilliant century to take India into the lead in the first innings of the fourth Test against England on Saturday.

On a pitch that isn’t the easiest to bat on, Kohli produced a masterclass as he edged India closer to a series win.

Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaksar, though, has warned the team that chasing any total will be a difficult task on a pitch that is expected to get worse for batting on days four and five.

Speaking to NDTV, the Indian great said: “Chasing even 150 runs on day five won’t be easy.”

Gavaskar also hailed Kohli for his impressive display.

“Virat Kohli is from another planet. I think he comes from an undiscovered planet. As a captain, he is still very young, but he is willing to learn and get better every day,” he said.
