Sri Lanka lived up to their billing as the No1 ranked Twenty20 nation in the world by clinching the ICC World T20 title in Dhaka on Saturday.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni
The Captain Cool was left fuming as he could score just 4 off 7 balls in India’s batting shocker. Rating: 4/10

Rohit Sharma
29 off 26 balls. Played his part in a crucial stand for the second wicket. Rating: 6/10

Ajinkya Rahane
Had a bad game with three runs off eight balls and dropped a catch. Rating: 3/10

Virat Kohli
His brilliant 77 off 42 balls was the saving grace in the Indian innings. Rating: 9/10

Yuvraj Singh
Undid Kohli’s good work by plodding away to 11 runs off 21 balls. Rating: 1/10

Suresh Raina
Although the left-hander did not get a chance to bat, he chipped in with an useful spell of off-spin – 4-0-24-1. Rating: 4/10

Ravichandran Ashwin
Threatened the rivals briefly but got clobbered in his last over. Rating: 6/10

Ravindra Jadeja
Did not have much role to play and the only over he bowled, gave away 11 runs. Rating: 3/10

Amit Mishra
Was fantastic in two overs conceding four runs but let 28 in the next two. Rating: 5/10

Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Did his bit – 18 in three overs – though it was not enough to rattle the opposition. Rating: 5/10

Mohit Sharma
Got just two overs, took a wicket and conceded 18 runs. Rating: 4/10

 

SRI LANKA

Lasith Malinga
The Sri Lankan was exceptional in his last spell conceding just nine runs from two overs. Rating: 9/10

Kusal Perera
The dashing opener lasted just seven balls, scoring four runs. Rating: 3/10

Tillakaratne Dilshan
The veteran opener ensured Sri Lanka’s run-rate did not drop with a quickfire 16 off 18 balls. Rating: 6/10

Mahela Jayawardene
Another stalwart who played his part with an useful 24 off 24 balls. Rating: 6/10

Kumar Sangakkara (STAR MAN)
Played the senior pro’s role to perfection with a calculated assault that took the sting out of India’s bowling. Rating: 10/10

Lahiru Thirimanne
The left-hander was bogged down by the Indian spinners and lasted 11 balls. Rating: 3/10

Angelo Mathews
Kept the Indian openers on a tight leash conceding just 11 runs in his first three overs before finishing with 1-25. Rating: 6/10

Thisara Perera
Did not get a bowl but proved his value with the bat smashing three sixes in his 14-ball 23. Rating: 7/10

Nuwan Kulasekara
Conceded 13 from three overs but Kohli hit him for 16 to spoil his figures. Rating: 6/10

Sachithra Senanayake
The young off-spinner was the most economical of all the Sri Lankan bowlers giving away 22 runs in four overs. Rating: 8/10

Rangana Herath
The experienced left-arm spinner left his mark with a miserly spell conceding 23 runs in his four overs. Rating: 8/10
