UAE will be looking for an immediate response to their defeat by Pakistan when they take on Zimbabwe in their final Under-19 World Cup warm-up on Wednesday.

Two days back, the hosts lost comprehensively by 10 wickets to two-time champions Pakistan at 7he Sevens Stadium in Dubai after registering a total of only 101.

Coach Aaqib Javed knows there was a considerable difference between the quality of the two sides on Monday, but now wants his team to forget about the defeat and concentrate on today’s match.

“We (UAE) were playing against a very very good team,” said Javed. “They won the title twice so they have a lot of good players. We are an emerging team and I think that was the difference between the two sides.

“We will now try to put up a good fight against Zimbabwe. That has always been our plan for every match. We want to put on a good show which people must appreciate.”

When asked if the performance is more important than the result, the 41-year-old replied: “Everybody wants to win but at the end of the day, my preference is to play some good cricket and I’m sure will go out there and play some good cricket”
