Peter Siddle was forced to bowl in a woolly hat on the final morning of Essex’s County Championship clash with Hampshire at a chilly Ageas Bowl.

The Australian paceman took added measures to protect himself from the cold as the temperatures dipped on the south coast.

The headwear did not stop Siddle though as, after breaking Rilee Rossouw’s bat with his second delivery, he had the South African caught at second slip.
