Pakistan are hunting for new coaches for their national side, but first they’re on the search for the men who will appoint them.

According to a report from Dawn, the PCB have only just started the process of forming a five-man committee to select the new management team in the post-Mickey Arthur era.

Arthur and his support team did not have their contracts renewed after the men in green’s failure to reach the semi-finals of the ICC World Cup in England earlier this summer.

The search for replacements is likely to be close to home. Misbah-ul-haq has reportedly applied for the role of head coach while another former Pakistan captain in Waqar Younis is the biggest name connected with the bowling coach post. A strength and conditioning coach will also be sought after.

However, the vacancies are unlikely to be filled soon, as the PCB try and nail down a five-man committee – most of whom are thought to be former Test players – to sift through the applications.

Pakistan will next be in action starting September 27 as Sri Lanka tour the country for the first game of an historic ODI and T20 series.
