Fast bowler Duanne Olivier capped a remarkable series against Pakistan by claiming three wickets as South Africa secured a whitewash by winning the third and final Test at the Wanderers by 107 runs.

Pakistan started the day on 153-3, chasing a daunting target of 381. But the visitors lost their seven wickets for 120 runs to be out for 273.

Fast bowler Olivier finished with 24 wickets in the series, which is the second most by a South African fast bowler in a three-Test encounter.

Babar Azam (21) gloved a rising ball from Olivier to wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock after adding 58 with Asad Shafiq. Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was bowled first ball as Olivier (3-74) brought the ball back in to the batsman who was expecting a short ball.

Vernon Philander got variable bounce from good length and that forced Shafiq to move down the pitch, only to end up edging to second slip for 65 from 71 balls. Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Amir were both caught by Aiden Markram at gully off pacer Kagiso Rabada (3-75).

Shadab Khan made 47 not out and was well supported by Hasan Ali who made a quick 22.

Olivier, who got his chance to start the series because Philander and Lungi Ngidi were injured, was named man of the series for his 24 wickets at an average of 14.71. Quinton de Kock, who made 129 in the second innings, was man of the match.
