Pace bowling legend Waqar Younis has slammed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Sethi for his latest remarks on the state of cricket in the country.

In a recent interview with Pakistan BBC Urdu, the PCB chairman agreed with host Shahid Khan Afridi’s views that there is a dearth of talent in the country.

“Problem is Pakistani society, entire Pakistan is like that, no discipline, shortcut-ism,and lack of education,” Sethi said in response to the host’s comments.

Those comments have not gone down too well with Younis who took to Twitter to slam the PCB chief.

Posting a video of the interview, Younis wrote: “Think before you speak, please stop blaming the nation being uneducated. They are better than lots of educated ones. There’s plenty (sic) talent in Pakistan.”

The 46-year-old former pacer had recently stated that Pakistan have a ‘fair chance’ of winning the 2019 ICC World Cup in England.

“Look back at the Champions Trophy and the team is building in confidence. The faith is coming. I will give fair chance to this Pakistan team for winning the World Cup,” he had said.

Pakistan have been impressive in white-ball cricket of late. Sarfraz Ahmed’s men are currently the top-ranked T20 outfit in the world and have won 24 matches out of 28 in the format. They recently captured the T20 tri-series trophy in Zimbabwe after pulling off their most successful run-chase in the final against Australia.

The men in green are currently involved in a five-match ODI series against Zimbabwe which they lead 2-0 after two thumping wins.
