West Indies to tour Pakistan for three T20 international matches in November

The West Indies will travel to Pakistan for three twenty-over clashes later this year.

According to reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Najam Sethi reached an agreement over the T20 series with West Indian counterparts on Monday.

It follows last week’s news that Sri Lanka will also contest one to two T20 fixtures in the country during either September or October.

Final dates for Pakistan’s T20 matches against both teams have yet to be officially confirmed.

With the Sri Lanka matches set to be staged in Pakistan before the West Indies series, it will be the first time international cricket has been staged in the country since a low-key limited-overs series was played against Zimbabwe, amidst a heavy security presence, back in May 2015.

Aside from those contests and Lahore’s successful staging of the Pakistan Super League final earlier this year, Pakistan have been unable to play on home turf due to security reasons following the 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus, which also occurred in Lahore.

Pakistan will also play two day-night Test matches, five one-day internationals and two T20 clashes against Sri Lanka in the UAE this winter – the Green Army’s cricketing home since 2009.
