India opener Rohit Sharma has cleared the Yo-Yo test and will travel with the squad on the tour of England and Ireland.

It was earlier rumoured that the 31-year old had failed to clear the fitness test on his first attempt and Ajinkya Rahane was kept on stand-by for the upcoming away series.

Rohit shared an Instagram post on Wednesday – where he was seen posing with shoes in his hands.

Although subsequently, he lashed out on Twitter at media reports that had said that it was his second attempt at the much-hyped fitness test.

The dashing right-hander wrote – “Verification before reporting is always a good idea” in his tweet.

Earlier, Ambati Rayudu had failed to pass the same Yo-Yo test following which left-handed batsman Suresh Raina was named as a replacement for the England tour.
