Former India batsman Sachin Tendulkar‘s son Arjun was selected in the Under 19 side for the two four-day games in Sri Lanka, on Friday.

18-year old Arjun is a tall left-arm fast bowler and a handy middle-order batsman.

He has trained under former India fast bowler Subroto Banerjee, his father’s close friend.

Arjun has bowled at the India nets in the recent past while also taking part in a camp for fast bowlers organised by the BCCI at Dharamsala.

Meanwhile, speaking on his son’s achievement the ‘Master Blaster’ was a happy man.

“We are happy on Arjun being selected in India U-19 team. It is an important milestone in his cricketing life. Anjali (Tendulkar) and I will always support Arjun in his choices and pray for his success,” he said.
