After much delay, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the schedule for the upcoming limited overs series against Australia and New Zealand.

However, the dates and schedule for the highly anticipated tour of South Africa remain undecided.

Earlier in August the BCCI had announced plans for a homes series against Australia and New Zealand but there had been a surprise addition of a match against Sri Lanka which had previously been unscheduled.

Owing to tensions between the BCCI and Cricket South Africa (CSA), the future of the originally scheduled Boxing Day Test (December 26) does not look positive as India’s home season is scheduled to carry on till December 24.

With the visit of the Aussies just a fortnight away, time is running out for the BCCI to release the dates for the series.

India and Australia will be playing five ODIs followed by three T20Is starting from September 17 with the final game being played on October 13.

The Aussies will be a playing a warm-up game against the Board President XI on the September 12 prior to the start of the limited-overs series.

Following the Australia series, India will welcome the Kiwis for three ODIs and as many T20Is from October 22 to November 7.

Kane Williamson’s men will be playing two warm-up games on October 17 and 19 prior to the first ODI at Mumbai.

The dates for the visit of Sri Lanka still remain unannounced which in turn is likely to lead to further delay in the finalization of the South Africa tour.

India have originally been scheduled to play three Tests, seven ODIs and two T20Is in South Africa but the final itinerary is yet to be announced and there could yet be some reduction of the planned matches.
