WATCH: MS Dhoni’s challenge for Jasprit Bumrah during practice ahead of first T20I against England

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni laid out a challenge for fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah during practice ahead of the first T20I against England at Green Park, Kanpur.

Dhoni wanted Bumrah to bowl wide yorkers so that he could practice on guiding the ball past the point region. The 35-year-old is usually a power hitter who prefers to hit down the ground, but is looking to expand his game.

The wide yorker has become a very useful delivery for bowlers in the backend of an innings in limited overs cricket.

Sri Lanka had famously used this strategy with success during Dhoni’s short stay at the crease during the World T20 final in 2014.
