Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has often faced criticism for his inconsistent performance in international cricket, but one cannot deny that he has been one of India’s best ODI batsmen over the last three years.

The Delhi batsman has 3,078 ODI runs to his name from 74 matches at a very respectable average of 43.97. He, in fact, has top scored for India in the last two major ODI tournaments – ICC Champions Trophy 2013 where he was named Player of the Tournament and ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

On his 31st birthday, a current and former cricketers took to Twitter to wish Dhawan the best.

Virender Sehwag was in usual form, trolling Dhawan by tweeting that he wants the left-handed batsman to do “Bhoomi [Earth] Poojan in dressing room and Naagin [snake] Dance on pitch for at least 2 hours every time while batting”.

Most other cricketers went for more traditional birthday wishes, all of which we share below.
