Jason Roy made his England return for the crunch World Cup game against India, with all-rounder Moeen Ali dropped.

Roy has missed the last three games with a torn hamstring but has been passed fit to reclaim his opening spot from the off-form James Vince.

Jofra Archer retained his place despite ongoing trouble with his left side, with Liam Plunkett recalled in place of Moeen.

Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted to bat first against an India side which included Risabh Pant in place of Vijay Shankar.
