Australia captain and wicket-keeper Tim Paine had an action-packed few deliveries during the second ODI against England in Cardiff.

The gloveman was in the thick of things as England batsmen raced towards a huge first innings total thanks to a fine century by opener Jason Roy.

In the 36th over of the innings on Saturday, Paine got hit above the lip as he tried to collect a wide delivery from seamer Andrew Tye.

Paine received extensive medical attention and Australia’s medical staff did a spot on job as just three deliveries later, the skipper and keeper was in the middle of the action once again.

Seamer Tye got the inside edge of Roy’s bat, which darted towards fine leg, giving Paine barely any time to react. The 33-year-old simply stuck his glove out to take a great one-handed catch and see the back of Roy.

As they say, wicketkeepers are generally the toughest players on the field.
