It was a training session of a different kind for a group of G Force Academy cricketers as they gained valuable tips from England stars Mark Wood, Ben Stokes and Joe Root.
The trio took time out from their busy schedule to visit DPS Academy in Dubai and offer their expertise and knowledge to 25 specially-selected boys aged between 13 and 16.

During the 40-minute session, the England professionals demonstrated their batting and bowling skills before observing the boys in action in the nets.
The visit was part of a partnership between sports footwear manufacturer New Balance and G Force Academy, and the latter’s head coach insists the cricketers’ presence will have a huge impact for the children.
“Without doubt, the children have learned a lot during the session with these England cricketers,” said Gopal Jasapara.
“Mark Wood, Ben Stokes and Joe Root are all fantastic cricketers and to have them come here and teach the star cricketers of tomorrow is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The cricketers will definitely remember this for the rest of their lives.”
He added: “The young cricketers really took a lot from this even though it was a short session. They were told the importance of how crucial it is to remain focused on the field and different ways of how to bowl and bat. In the training session, they stood and saw the boys bat and bowl and then gave them advice of how to improve. It’s important that the boys take this knowledge away and apply it in match situations.”
Pacer Wood and all-rounders Root and Stokes then held a question-and-answer session to more than 100 children.
“The cricketers gave the kids an insight of how much work is needed to reach the top level” said Jasapara.
“For us at G Force Academy, it’s a privilege to have them with us as there are many cricket academies in the UAE.”
