There weren’t many things on the cricket field that West Indies great Sir Garfield Sobers could not do. He could bat like a dream, bowl both left-arm fast and spin, field in any position and lead the side.

And on this day back in 1968, he added another feather to his cap. Playing for Nottinghamshire in a county game against Glamorgan, Sobers got a chance to score some quick runs before the first innings declaration.

Facing left-arm bowler Malcolm Nash, who was trying out left-arm spin rather than his usual medium pacers, Sobers smashed him for six consecutive sixes, the first time anyone had managed the maximum off a six-ball over.
