2022 edition of the Veteran’s Premier League conducted successfully in Kerala

The 9th edition of Veteran’s Premier League (VPL) conducted by Veterans & Cricketers Association of Kerala was held at Alappuzha, Kerala on 11th, 12th & 13th of March, with the support of Kerala Cricket Association. VPL is an annual event conducted and participated by former Kerala Ranji Trophy & Junior State players alongside club cricketers which consist of 6 teams (JK’s Malabar Tigers, Malabar Warriors, Travancore Panthers, Absolute Sobers, Kochi Royals & Dukes) and the team selections were conducted by annual auctions.

This year’s edition of VPL was special as there were 21 players from KOC (Kerala Overseas Cricketers forum) and among them were 3 team owners and 2 team Captains and the performances were dominated by KOC players which gave them 5 major tournament prices. Biju Thomas was the highest run-getter with 186 runs & Vinan G Nair was the highest wicket-taker with 9 wickets.

  5. Man of the Match Finals – Arun AV

The title sponsor of this year’s VPL also was a UAE & India based shipping company Navio-Shipping along with many other UAE sponsors (Jotun Paints, Colata Professional Chocolates, Grand Freight, Hash Tag Documentation Clearing Services & Baraccuda)

Final Scores:– Malabar Warriors scored 128/7 in 15 Overs (Biju Thomas 58*, Vinan.G.Nair 4-23) & JK’s Malabar Tigers chased the total in 13.5 Overs 130/4, (Arun Av 50 & Shibith 26*) – MOM – Arun AV
