Bangladesh beat India outside Dhaka for the first time in 12 years:

The Tigers, without Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, shocked a second-string Indian team in the first T20I of the three-match series. The victory was a historic moment for Bangladesh cricket and it was particularly poetic that the 1000th T20I resulted in an upset win. Bangladesh last beat India outside Dhaka at Port of Spain in a 50-over World Cup match in 2007. Mushfiqur Rahim scored an unbeaten half-century then and he did the same at Delhi, battling tough conditions.

‘Hitman’ Sharma celebrates 100 T20Is in style

Rohit Sharma became first Indian male player and the second in the World after Shoaib Malik to feature in 100 T20Is. He commemorated the occasion by smashing a 43-ball-83, smashing hapless Bangladesh bowlers to all corners of Rajkot. He hit three consecutive sixes of Mosaddek Hossain and later expressed disappointment at not being able to pull an Yuvraj Singh and smack the leg-spinner for six maximums in an over.
During the Rajkot carnage, he went past MS Dhoni for hitting the most number of sixes as Indian captain with 37 sixes in just 17 innings. He has hit 66 sixes in international cricket in 2019, the most by any batsman this year and he can still play nine games before the end of the year.

Rishabh Pant is at times irresistible in front of the stumps but inexplicably inconsistent behind it. In the second T20I against Bangladesh, the keeper, in his haste to stump the batsman, conceded a free-hit by collecting the ball just in front of the stumps. Pant was also guilty of using reviews poorly in the first T20I. MS Dhoni’s heir apparent? Not quite!

Pant wasn’t the only keeper committing blunders this week as Afghanistan’s keeper-batsman Ikram Alikhil lost his wicket in the most comical fashion.  After picking up a single during the ODI against West Indies, in his eagerness to congratulate his partner for scoring a fifty, he left the crease while the ball was still in play. He was promptly run-out and a batting collapse followed Alikhil’s dismissal as Afghanistan slipped to a seven-wicket loss.,

Chase master Mandhana
Indian opener Smriti Mandhana starred in another chase to help India women’s team clinch an ODI series against West Indies. Her knock of 74 in the match was her ninth consecutive fifty-plus score in Women’s ODI chases. She has now scored 2000 ODI runs in just 51 innings. Among Indians, only Shikhar Dhawan got to the landmark quicker – 48 innings.

David Warner was dismissed in T20I  cricket

After remaining unbeaten against Sri Lanka, the southpaw was finally castled by Mohammad Amir. Australia lost just three wickets in the entire series, the fewest by any team in a T20I series/tournament.

The hosts went on to win the series to finish 2019 unbeaten in T20Is.
