Sydney Sixers’ wicketkeeper-batsman Alyssa Healy set the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) alight with a sensational century on Sunday.

During her 52-ball ton, the 29-year-old shared an unbroken 199-run opening partnership with Ellyse Perry, thus setting the record for the highest  stand for any wicket in the WBBL,  surpassing the previous best of 156.

This was Healy’s third century in the month of October after her T20I and ODI ton against Sri Lanka earlier. She broke the world record for the highest individual score in a Women’s T20I with 148* (61) at North Sydney Oval against Sri Lanka.

Her century on Sunday against the Melbourne Stars is her third ton in the competition’s history and she is the only person to score more than two centuries in the WBBL.

The exceptional batting performance set up an easy win for the Sixers with the opponents, Melbourne Stars falling short by 45 runs.

The Sydney Sixers are blessed with an exceptional opening pair as the duo have now added 2000 runs at the top of the order for the team across three seasons.
