With the Cricket World Cup reaching its climax, organisers of the Zurich Cricket 6s Tournament are hoping love for the gentleman’s game will rub off on UAE businesses and encourage them to participate in its second annual event, taking place on February 7, 2020, at the Sevens Stadium, Dubai.

After being bowled over with the success of the inaugural event this year, the next action-packed tournament will see the number of corporate team spots increase from 16 to 24.

Combining team building, fitness and healthy competition, the event encourages fast games and inclusivity in the popular sixes format.

Victoria Hepworth, managing partner at Corporate Affair Event Management (CAEM) and organiser of the event, says: “We’ve been thrilled with the success of the Cricket 6s which proves love for the game is definitely alive and well in the UAE.

“We hope by increasing team capacity this year, more businesses in the region will register to take part and, importantly, recognise the positive impact sporting events such as this can have on employee morale, fitness levels and their general mental health and wellbeing.”

Headline sponsor, Zurich Middle East, is passionate about promoting the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle to be #readyforlife. Walter Jopp, CEO at Zurich Middle East, added: “It’s a real privilege to support this event, which we are confident will quickly become a key part of the corporate sporting calendar for the UAE.

“We also want it to become a community gathering, with colleagues, friends and family all welcome to support and enjoy the occasion.

“The tournament is a great way to encourage people to get fit and active, and by ensuring it’s open to everyone, regardless of age or ability, we will hopefully inspire a new wave of cricket enthusiasts.”

Wickets, daisy cutters and LBW’s aside, the event will also provide lots of family entertainment and a variety of f&b to ensure a fun and relaxing day can be enjoyed by all.
