7.49pm – Sachin Tendulkar surprised by Australia batting

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar says he’s never witnessed Australians batting as defensively at home as they did on day two of the first Test between the two sides on Friday.

Having bowled out India for 250 off the first ball of the day, Australia ended the day on 191/7 after 88 overs, thanks to some disciplined, tight bowling from the visitors.

5pm – Pakistan suffer 123-run defeat

New Zealand won their first away series against Pakistan in 49 years after bowling the hosts out for 156 on the final day of the third Test in Abu Dhabi.

William Somerville, Ajaz Patel, and Tim Southee each took three wickets as Pakistan collapsed after being set a target of 280.

Babar Azam top-scored with 51 for Pakistan, who collapsed in a chase for the second time this series after being bowled out for 171 in the final innings of the first Test, chasing 176.

Pakistan collapsed to 55/5 at lunch after New Zealand set them a target of 280 to win the final Test, and with it the series, on Friday.

Henry Nicholls joined captain Kane Williamson in scoring a century as the Kiwis piled on the runs, declaring at 353/7.

In response, Pakistan’s top order has folded cheaply, with William Somerville taking two wickets in two balls to hasten a collapse.

12:50pm – Travis Head’s innings keeps India at bay

Travis Head struck a fighting half century to rescue Australia after the top order folded under some tight Indian bowling. The hosts reached stumps at 191/7, with Head unbeaten on 61.

Ravi Ashwin bowled beautifully to take three wickets for India, and he was ably supported by the pacers, with Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah taking two wickets each.
