Australia v India first Test Live: Cheteshwar Pujara century rescues India after collapse

A rebuilding innings from Cheteshwar Pujara rescued India on Thursday after a first-innings collapse in Adelaide.

Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat, but India’s top order folded due to some poor shot selection against Australia’s fast bowlers.

The visitors were 56/4 at lunch, and 143/6 at tea.

But a 62-run partnership between Pujara and Ravichandran Ashwin has helped India being bowled out cheaply.

Earlier, KL Rahul, Murali Vijay, Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, and Rohit Sharma all fell to poor shots, with the first four chasing wide deliveries and Sharma getting out to a mis-hit aggressive shot against Nathan Lyon.
