11:30pm – Sachin Tendulkar made to wait in ringing the bell at Lord’s

The Indian legend was left disappointed not to ring the bell for the start of play at ‘The Home of Cricket’ on Thursday after rain washed out play. He will have another chance perhaps on Friday and the retired batsman took to social media of his frustration. Read more here.

10:45pm – ‘Ollie Pope is an exciting player’

After a thrilling series opener at Edgbaston last week the cricketing world is eagerly awaiting the second installment of the England – India Test series at Lord’s.

But unfortunately the weather has other ideas and currently the covers are on and we are still waiting for the toss due to light drizzle at Lord’s.

11.29am: Double blow for Australia as Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood ruled out of Pakistan series

Cricket Australia has advised fast bowlers, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood, will not be available for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates, as they continue to recover from their lumbar bone stress injuries.

“Pat and Josh are progressing well from their lumbar bone stress injuries but are not bowling,” explained Team Physiotherapist, David Beakley, “so unfortunately they will not be at the level required for Test match intensity come October.”

9.41am: Dasun Shanaka stars as Sri Lanka beat South Africa in thrilling fourth ODI

Suranga Lakmal bowled a terrific final over to lead Sri Lanka to a win.

Sri Lanka broke their run of 11 consecutive losses to South Africa in the ODI format with a thrilling three-run win in the fourth game of the five-match series at Kandy on Wednesday.

In a rain-curtailed match, the Proteas fell three runs short of the revised Duckworth-Lewis (D/L) target of 190 to get in 21 overs.

With the narrow win, the hosts now trail 1-3 in the series after losing the first three matches.
