After facing each other in the T20 tri-series, Zimbabwe and Pakistan turn their focus to the 50-over format.

Sarfraz Ahmed’s side go into the five-match series as strong favourites with a number of key Zimbabwe players missing due to a dispute with their cricket board. Pakistan will be aiming to register their first ODI win in 2018.

Pakistan are in control of the game with Imam-ul-Haq scoring his second ODI century. The nephew of Pakistan legend Inzamam Ul-Haq has been in sensational form with the bat. The 22-year-old scored 11 fours in his 134 deliveries before being dismissed by Blessing Muzarabani for 128.

Before that, Fakhar Zaman picked up where he left off to score 60 runs while debutant Asif Ali hit contributed with 46 runs as Pakistan reached 308-7 in their 50 overs.

In their chase, Zimbabwe are four wickets down with just 53 runs to their name. Usman Khan removed captain Hamilton Masakadza (7) and Brian Chari (2) in the first three overs.

Pakistan bowlers then took control with Shadab Khan taking three wickets and Faheem Ashraf added another. With 15 overs to go, Pakistan wrapped up the game with the final two wickets to seal a 201-run win. Shadab took his total to four while Mohammad Amir claimed one as Zimbabwe were all out for 107.
