Captain Virat Kohli and the rest of the India team departed for their tour of England on Saturday.

The 29-year-old was among the players to leave Mumbai for their three-month tour of the UK, which will begin with a two-match T20 series against Ireland next week.

India will then travel to England for three T20 clashes against Eoin Morgan’s side beginning July 7 before three ODIs five days later.

On August 1, the two nations will meet in the first of five Tests with the series ending in early September.

It will be India’s 18th tour of England but the top-ranked Test team have a poor record winning only six Tests, three of them coming in the last four series.

The last time India won on English soil was in 2007 when Anil Kumble skippered the team. On their last visit to England, the Indians were defeated 3-1 in 2014.
