For the first time, a mid-season transfer window will come into effect in the IPL starting from Sunday.

Set to run for the period between Match 28 and Match 42, the transfer window will culminate on May 10 with the meeting between Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In the IPL, defending champions Mumbai Indians have just about managed to keep their hopes of reaching the play-offs alive with a eight-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings at the Dahunje stadium in Pune. Rohit Sharma’s men chased down Chennai’s total of 169-5 with two balls to spare to record their second win of the season. Here are our talking points from the clash.

19:30pm – Phil Simmons not bothered about Virat Kohli’s availability for Afghanistan’s historic Test with India

Virat Kohli’s participation in the historic one-off Test against Afghanistan remains under a cloud due to the Indian skipper’s probable County stint after the completion of the ongoing IPL. Afghanistan head coach Phil Simmons is not concerned about Kohli’s participation though and is only looking to create history.

18:30 – In-form Sunrisers Hyderabad seek to break down Rajasthan Royals’ fortress

Meanwhile, Pakistan have started their tour of Ireland and England with a warm-up game against Kent at Canterbury. Sarfraz Ahmed’s men were 79-3 when bad light stopped play before lunch. Opener Imam-ul-Haq was looking solid for Sarfraz Ahmed’s men with an unbeaten 37.

It’s a double-header in the IPL tomorrow with Bangalore and Kolkata clashing at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Both sides enter the side on the back of a defeat with RCB losing to Chennai while KKR were beaten by Delhi. Read our preview here.

10:45am – Eoin Morgan is supports the idea of 100-ball format

The England limited-overs captain gave his backing to the new 100-ball format, saying such measures must be embraced or cricket ‘will die’. The England and Wales Cricket Board announced plans for the new tournament that will see each side play 100-ball each.
