Maxtalent Global Sports travelled to Muscat for their tour and they didn’t disappoint with a number of impressive and individual displays over the five days.

The Dubai-based academy fielded three age groups – Under-11, Under-13 and Under-16s as they tested themselves against promising players from Muscat in the Maxtalent MCCC Challenge Cup.

Among those to shine were under-11 skipper Ashmith Shetty, who led from the front scoring 165 runs from four matches with his highest score of 60. He also took four wickets in four matches.

For their Under-13s, Mayank Hinduja  gave a superb all-round display, scoring  98 runs  as well as taking four wickets with his leg spin. Other key performers were Ishan Nair, who scored 66 runs in 39 deliveries.

In Under-16s, Krish Bandivedkar, Chris Sequeira, Yash Hegde were among those to impress. Bandivedkar scored an unbeaten 88, while Hegde shined with the bat with an unbeaten 38 runs in the first match. Sequeira also impressed with the bat and ball as they won two of their four matches.

Head coach Sudhakar Shetty, said: “The tour was a memorable and different kind of tour for us. We saw some brilliant individual efforts from all the boys and teams and although we could not get through to the finals, it was a great learning experience.

“A lot of them got to play in a tournament where they were playing in a tight situation as well as quickly adopting to new schedules within a short span of time.”
